Linear Module

SKU: 0024

Availability: Stock Out

Product Short Description

Linear module also known as linear actuator in China.Single axis acytuator can achieve two axis, three axis, and gantry type combinations through different combination styles, so multi axis robots are also known as Cartesian coordinate machines.

Linear module have two advantage

Ball screw drive

It has the characteristics of high positioning accuracy, low friction, high rigidity, and strong load capacity. But the screw drive also has its shortcomings, which is that it has a length limit and cannot be too long. When the ratio of length to diameter of the screw exceeds a certain value, the screw will be affected by gravity and generate deflection. As the deflection increases, resonance can easily occur during rotation, leading to the screw breaking. Currently, this problem has not been accurately solved, so the screw transmission still has limitations. Synchronous belt drive: Synchronous belt drive has the characteristics of low noise, fast speed, and low cost. Synchronous belts have a price advantage in long-distance transportation. However, compared to screw drive, the accuracy of the synchronous belt is not as high as that of the screw drive.

Different transmissions

Linear module robots are generally divided into two transmissions: one is ball screw transmission, and the other is synchronous belt (synchronous toothed belt) transmission. Both of these are guided by linear guides, combined with servo motors or stepper motors, which can achieve positioning, load transfer, transportation, and other applications in different fields.
